Dr. Dinesh kumar
Research Scientist
He completed his Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras in the field of ferroelectric and magnetoelectric materials for multifunctional device applications. During his PhD, he developed a fully automated experimental setup to measure direct and converse magnetoelectric coupling in composite materials under resonance as well as off-resonance conditions. At Virginia Tech India, his research is focused on designing piezoelectric and magnetoelectric devices for variety of applications. This research includes the development of high-performance materials for different energy harvesting and structural health monitoring applications. He is also working on flexible self-powered piezo-nanogenerators for wearable device applications. Besides, he is also collaborating with other research groups to develop graphene-polymer composites for electromagnetic shielding (EMI) application.
